Like most teenagers, I had a bumpy ride during those formative years. Lots of melancholy, depressing music, deep thoughts, and just trying to find my footing in the world, finding out who I am! Don't get me wrong, I had a lot of fun and good times too, but I won't forget the other side of things and the impact it had on me. This painting was made in school, around 90-92, and it was one of my first times to use acrylics. I can feel it emobdies both my lust to explore the new medium, and also this underlying current of teenage angst.
